Mario Cucinella, one of the most internationally renowned architects and designers, shared his story while also describing his design philosophy. A common thread throughout his work is sustainability; plants, with their extraordinary adaptability, serve as a fundamental source of inspiration in his projects. Cucinella is a pioneer in this approach, perfectly embodying the spirit of our time: a focus on nature and the fight against resource consumption.

ICFF is planned  series of events featuring Mario Cucinella, celebrating his innovative vision and impact on the world of architecture and design. This initiative was made possible thanks to the support of Toronto Metropolitan University, and in particular, Dr. Roberta Iannacito-Provenzano, TMU Provost and Vice-President.

ICFF welcomed Mario Cucinella to the festival for a tailored keynote at the Canadian Stage, where he shares his visionary approach to sustainable architecture and design. In this special event, Cucinella discussed his most groundbreaking projects, including the Italian Pavilion for the Osaka EXPO, which exemplifies innovation in ecological architecture, as well as his work on TECLA, the 3D-printed clay house designed to promote zero-waste, low-carbon housing solutions.
